I wanted air filter which can be maintained. I found pipercross air filter online for 40 eur. You must clean it every 30 000km. Stock filter is recommended to change every 30 00km and it costs aprox 20-30 euros. K&N costs more than 70 eur.
It also looked like engine can’t get enough air into it, because I have it stage 1 remmaped.
For bmw x3,e90 2.0d code of this filter is PX1429. It should also fit in some other vehicles.

This is what should be benefits of a filter from pipercross:
How will a Pipercross panel filter benefit you?
- Directly replaces the air filter in your airbox
- 30% more airflow over a standard paper air filter
- Longer lifespan before cleaning required over cotton
- Easy cleaning, no dirt caught like with V shaped filter grooves
- Bench tested for improved fuel economy, power and torque outputs
- Lifetime warranty on all replacement and performance road use
Instalation of a filter is the same as a stock filter, excepts it is really hard to fit on housing of a filter housing. I don’t know why it is so tight, maybe to seal better.
Regarding performance, it is hard to tell, but I think it is better. I’m having some issues with a dpf and I didn’t do any testings, but I think it pulls harder. Maybe I will do some testing in a future.

Hello,
there were rear coils or springs. Common problem on x3. I’ve also changed transfer case oil
