Last time when I was cleaning my gopro housing I realised that it is cracked. I was real lucky that it is still waterproof after diving in the sea.
Strange thing is that I don’t know how this happend. I never dropped gopro on the floor or even was hit by something. I had hero hd and I drove over with ATV and it wasn’t cracked.
So maybe I don’t have luck or maybe aren’t new gopro housings as good as they were ni past.
So I contacted Gopro support and got this response:
All our gear is tested, so we know what it takes to crack and/or break
> them.
> In the case of the housing it could never crack just for lying around.
> Maybe someone used or dropped the housing without you noticing it?
Gopro claims that all their products are the best, so OK i knew from the start that I will need to buy new housing. But I’m not so sure anymore if Gopro is still as good and durable as it was.
Another thing that bothers me is very very poor baterry. It lasts hardly for hour if I don’t use the remote. But support said that they will send me new one. Nice!
So at the end I have still mixed feelings about Gopro. Competion is not as good as gopro. I like gopro camera and mounts, video quality is good. But I bought black edition (pro camera) for 400 eur, I want the best camera without excuses.
