Another BMW thing that will decompose over time is headlight gasket. It is actually another stupid invetion from BMW. It costs 15 eur per piece. So I went to a local shop with seals and bought seal for just 3,5 eur.

Can’t believe I stumbled on this. Just what I was looking for! Do you recall what kind of seal/gasket you used there? It appears to a fair bit thicker than the OEM stuff, any issues? Looking to do mine as well and do not want to fork over the $25/piece for OEM replacement.
I used rubber from specialized local store. Its cheap and effective and it cost me few euros. Not lilke oem which is 20 a piece.
