Gopro Hero 3,3+ must have gadgets
Posted: 2nd January 2014 by viljem_r in Gopro, StartTags: black 3, gadgets, gopro, hero 3
Here are few Gopro Hero 3 must have gadgets. They should be in every Gopro box. Fortunately they cost just few bucks on ebay.
GOPRO ALU RING , very usefull if you don’t want to loose your precious camera. It is even easier to mount it. And looks cool. After installation camera is still water proof. Tested 😉
LENS COVER You need that to protect your lens. In package are 2 pieces. One for case and one for camera. Usefull when you charge your camera and when you throw it in your backpac.
REMOTE STRAP: This should really be in the box when you purchase gopro. I can’t see how remote can be usefull without this strap.

CVT clutch renewal on ATV

CVT clutch was in bad shape on my ATV sym quadlander. New costs a lot of money, so I rebuild it.
First you need to dissasemblly cvt and take down clutch.
As you can see it was in really worn.
First you need hot gun or torch to heat that big nut. Nut is secured with screw glue. You won’t loosen it without propper amount of heat! Loose it carefull, because under it is big spring. Wear protection glows and face shield.
They use special tools for that. I didn’t, because it is not so strong.
Then remove all 3 springs with screw driver and then rings.
Took it to company which rebuild clutches and brakes.
Then asembled together. You must check that big spring. If it si too soft you need to replace it! Put some grease, make sure it is heat proof.Â
I had to replace clucth bell ,because it was over heated.
At the end make sure you put some screw glue on nut;)
ATV/Quad custom exhaust

I hated stock exhaust on my atv. It was rusty, loud, ugly. I needed better exhaust. After carb modification it looked like this.
I bought KTM 450 sx stock exhaust. It was almost new. Exhaust is suitable for 300cc atv. I didn’t want it too loud, cause it must be road legal. So enduro exhaust is fine.
Diameter of stock exhaust pipe was 25 mm steel pipe. I decideced for 35mm inox pipe. I had to weld it with arc welder and inox electrodes. I must say that I don’t like arc welder, but without TIG welder that was only propper way to do it.
First we had to make new flange. I cut it with grinder, drilled 35mm hole and 2 holes for screws. Then put in on cylinder and used 2 inox 90 degres elbows to get proper angle of pipe.
Then some cutting welding, modifyng, making it fit.
I also needed to make new mount for muffler. I made simple, fast and propper solution.
In the edn it looks like this. Perfect fit. I will need to do some small mods for sure. But it looks and sound awesome.
There are much better accelerations in mid range of rpm. After replacing exhaust you will need to adjust carb 😉 Maybe I will upload video with sound later.
My friend Mare was great help. We spent 8 hours in garage, working hard. So fall in that we forgot to eat and drink. Late in the evening it was BEER time 😀
I never welded on atv !! I didn’t want to burn it. So I just marked both pieces and weld it on the floor.

ATV \ QUAD airbox mod
Posted: 8th November 2013 by viljem_r in Cars, bikes, vehicles, Garage, StartTags: airbox, airfilter, atv, carborator, keihin, quad
After I did some mods to my carburator keihin cvk, I heard strange noise under my sit. I figured out that my ATV needs more air. I tried to drive without airbox cover and motor runned much better.
With limited space I couldn’t just change intake tube, so I drilled 2 25mm holes.
Around holes I put some hot glue, so water can’t go directlly in airbox.
Wrapped airbox cover with nylon socks, so dust and stones can’t be sucked directlly in airbox.
This is how it looks in the end. There are much better acceleration and power.
After drilling holes you must adjust carburator with mixture screw!!!
