I always loved rc planes, boats… I build them in a past. But that was always very expensive hobby for kid. So I grew up and earned some money and  decided to make my own quadcopter.

Budget was about 200 eur. That means a little better than start models of quadcopters. Also if you build it by yourself it is cheaper and you’ re more flexible. I need quadcopter who can easily lifts 2 gopro cams, because i’m very interested in aerial footages. And maybe later in FPV. FPV means firt persons view. More inf about fpv:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Person_View

I got a lot of informations from my friend, who bought kit. It was for about 140 eur without battery and receiver.  After a chat we realised that it is better if I buy parts seperatlly from ebay and hobbyking.  I didn’t change a lot his configuration. Just control board, battery and escs.

Configuration of quad is:

-KK2.0 Multi-rotor LCD Flight Control Board

– F450 Multi-rotor Quad Copter Airframe

– motors D2822/17 Brushless Outrunner 1100kv

– propellers 8045 SF Props 2pc Standard Rotation/2 pc RH Rotation (Green)

– Turnigy Multistar 20 Amp Multi-rotor Brushless ESC 2-4S

– EC POWER 3000mAh 11.1V 3S 35C lipo li-po Lithium Polymer Battery RC

– 7.4V-11.1V Lipo Battery low voltage Alarm Indicator 6W MR16 led light Bul A

You will also need charger and receiver.

– Li-Po 7.4v 11.1v RC Battery Balance Charger 2-3 Cells
– HobbyKing HK6S 2.4Ghz FHSS 6Ch Tx & Rx (Mode 2)

Here is pic of parts on the similiar quad.

And now I’m impatiently waiting for parts 🙂

Reuse Gopro adhesive mounts

In package you get only few adhesive mounts. Sometimes you put them on a wrong spot or you wan’t to put them somewhere else. But here is problem, because you can’t use same tape.

Here is solution how to re use them.

First you need this tape. You can buy them on the web or in most hardware stores. It costs about 5 eur. It holds up weight to 2,5 kg. It is a little thinner than original gopro tape.

I wanted to reuse curved mount, because I bought new helmet.  So first I removed mount with small screwdriver. It is quite hard to remove it, which is good. 😉 After that I removed adhesive with same screwdriver and clean it up with plastic cleaner.

Then I took this Scotch tape and stick it on mount in to lines. Then you just simply cut it with knife.

And mount is ready to be reused. I tested on my helmet and it holds almost like originial 😉

For more inf see wikipedia:

Till now he renewed brake, replaced front differential, repaired starter and did some small repaires. Car still needs some work, but it is working well.

On easter sunday we had to take it for a spin. Bad weather didn’t stop us. See video of this real off roader.

I put my gopro on hay tedder. I used gopro suction cup.

See it in action:

I bought Corolla 08.  First impression of most stock units is RUBISH. I hate stock audio devices in car. All are expensive and can not compare to aftermarket headunits and speakers.

So I bought 2 din pioneer avh 3300 bt unit.  I had speakers, woofer and amplifier from my old car. I also installed rear cam.

Checked images in galery.

Another LED tail light

As you probably know lights with bulbs can be pain in the ass when you drive in hard conditions. Sometimes you replace bulb and day later light is not working anymore. You should buy new tail lights which can be expensive.

So I decided that I will modify tail lights and replace bulbs with led stripe.  I bought 1 meter of led stripe. This stripe can be cut to pieces, which is very usefull. You have marks on it where can you cut it. You can see it on a picture below.

led stripe

You also need one piece of aluminiun or plastic to glue that led stripe on. I used pcb board. You just heat it with hair dryer and then cut it in shape that you want.

Then I glued led stripe on and connected minus and plus together. And on one side you solder to wires. This wires you will connect later on bulb socket.

Light is very bright, so I’m satisfied.

Usefull for tractor,excavators,trailers atvs…
