After few thrilling rides I realized I need to modify my stock bumper. Riding through forest made a lot damage on my front plastic and headlights. And also If you roll over you will brake whole front end. Unluckly my Sym is selled in Slovenia only S version ( sport). That means without front UTV bumper. So I went to garage and study how to modify it. I had some ideas from other atv brands. Then I took picture and edited in paintbrush :D. Bumper must be functional and must look like new ferrari 🙂 Then I bought 26mm steel tube. I needed about 2 meters. Thens started to cutting and welding. For headlights protection I needed to bend it. This did my friend with bending machine. I just draw line on a piece of paper. After that I cut it and fit it. Welding was done by my father . Who was professional welder for more than 10 years. Of course I can weld, but lets leave this work for pros 😀 You must weld this tubes on ATV, so that you can fit all lines, and check if it looks ok. After that I removed it and weld it. Then used sand paper to remove all dirt and rost from tubes. After that I spray it with black colour. And today I will fit it on my ATV. Finally!!
Spinning helmet camera

After a lot of thinking I finally found good idea on web, how to make spinning helmet cam.
I wanted to use bearings and steel plates and carbon stick to make it. But then I saw guy who used castor wheel.
I went to hardware store and bought it. Then I found my old elan ski pole Sarajevo 1984 😀 In past they made durable products. For testing purposes I used my old helmet.
First I removed wheel and then mounted plate to my helmet. I drilled 4 holes and use 20mm long screws.
Then I drilled through ski pole. I drilled 2 holes one to mount it on plate and other for my goopro camera.
On the other side of pole you must add some weight to balance pole. Otherwise you neck will hurt and you won’t be able to ride. Maybe even to wear helmet.

Another boring saturday, nothing to do… And all we need is a little excitment.
Kids weren’t playing outside, probably weather. But big boys are always ready for some fun 😉 So we used snow, old opel kadett b hood and atv.

Sym Quadlander 300s menjava ležajev-rear axle bearing replacement

Vožnja po blatu in vodi je terjala davek. Večino časa potopljena in prepuščena teškim okoliščinam se je uklonila zadnja osovina. Zaslišim nekakšen luft. Menda niso puše! Dvignem z dvigalko in lej , zadnja osovina miga levo in desno. :S:S Voda in kovina to sta večna sovražnika. Sledil je tehtni premislek in odločitev, da bom spet nekaj popoldnevov v garaži!!!
Začelo se je z demontažo matic, zato potreben ključ 55 mm?!! Pogledam po garaži, največji ključ 47!! :S Še dobro, da obstaja doma francoz. Matice po večini lepijo z raznimi lepili, da se ne odšraufajo. To med vožnjo pomeni brezskrbnost, med demontažo pa malo veselico z prav toliko zbranimi možmi. Najprej očistimo in namažemo navoj, da bo šlo lažje. Pomaga če matico pogrejete s kakim močnim fenom, brenerjem, da lepilo popusti. Po vsem napenjajnju sem hitro prišel nazaj v garažo z 1,7 m dolgo vodovodno cevjo. S vrvjo sem zvezal obe ročki bremz, da se 4 kolo ne premika. Tudi to ni bilo dovolj, zato sem nanj postavil še 85kg teško osebo. Nato se je odvijala prava vojna, vendar sem po 2 urah bitke ves premočen v kratkih rokavih zmagal!! Prva ovira premagana.
Nato odstranimo gume in pokrov, tam najdemo matico s katero so privijačene peste. Obe odvijačimo, ter nato z leve strani zbijemo ven akso s kladivom. Pomebno je da ne tolčemo z železom,saj bomo poškodovali osovino.
Že na prvi pogled vidimo, daje bila notri voda. Nato odvijačimo čeljust ter snamemo disk in nato še ohišje reduktorja. Najlažje je če snamemo cel reduktor. Pri tem ko snamemo pazimo da prej spustimo olje. Nato pa ga s plastičnim kladivom na rahlo snamemo. Po temu ponavadi pade ven še kardan.
Po pregledu so bili ležaji v reduktorju ok. Tudi znakov vode v olju ni bilo. Tako da jih nisem zamenjal. Na levi strani sem ležaje odstranil z cevjo in tako sem stare izbil ven. Ležaji so bili res zanič, notri pa en kup umazanije in rje.
Nato je prišlo čiščenje. Vse sem najprej pošprical z sprejem za odmaščevanje in spral z vodo. Kasneje postopek ponovil, da je bilo res čisto. Dele posušil in jih nato zbrusil z žično krtačo in brusnim papirjem. Potrebno je res dobro očistiti dele in rjo.
Nato pride nakup delov. Vse sem kupil v trgovini Kotal. Ležaje vzamemo najbolše se razume!!
Seznam materijala:
2 kos ležaj 6007 FAG (menjal samo ta ker sta bila zanič)
2 kos ležaj 6009 FAG ( te dva plavata v olju
2 kos semering 60x44x10 (original 60x44x7 ampak paše not ok)
1 kos semering 62x44x10
1 kos O ring 35×2.5
1 kos O ring ( pozabil zmerit, je pa tam kjer je disk)
400 gramov masti fuchs (rdeča, vodoodporna)
Cena materiala pride okoli 35 eur.
Nato se lotimo sestavlanja. Na ohišju reduktorja zamenjamo semeringa. Potem gremo na ohišje in vse namažemo in vstavimo ležaja.
Ne pozabimo, vstavit še notranje cevi. Ker sem potem vse dol šraufal in spominjal po govorici na zidarja. Nato vtaknemo kardan, pazljivo da ga lepo zataknemo v menjalnik. Najbolje da notri posvetimo in lepo nasadimo. Nato pa navijačimo nazaj reduktor. Kasneje vtaknemo še osovino na katero smo prej dali nov O ring. Osovino namažemo z mastjo in jo porinemo notri. Pri tem je pomembno da to storimo nežno, da ne poškodujemo novi semeringov na reduktorju.
Nato pride še disk, ki ga ne prijemamo s umazanimi rokami. Če zamastimo ploščice so ponavadi za v večna lovišča.
Sledijo zlovešči matici. Te zategnemo potem ko imamo gor že kolesa, saj si tako olajšamo delo. Na vrsto pridejo peste, ki jih dobro privijačimo in obvezno vstavimo varovalo. Da ne bo kdo med vožno kaj izgubil.
Nato zategnemo matici. Gremo en krog in preverimo še enkrat. Jaz sem jih nato še nalepil s lepilom kemiskol. Uporabljajo ga v montaži gostinske opreme in vodovodarji. Ima pa lastnost, da če ne pogreješ ne odšraufaš nikoli več 🙂
Po končanem delu sem si kar oddahnil. Voda res naredi svoje. In vse zarjavi, tako da je kaj odvijačit vse največja muka. Postopek traja kar 2-3 popoldneve. Odvisno koliko časa imaš popoldne in koliko pomoči. Jaz sem v glavnem delal sam.
Ta projekt si bo predvsem dobro zapomnil moj stari prijatelj francoz. Zvit je ko kakšna presta in mogoče ga reši še kakšna preša. Bil je vedno moj dober prijatelj.
